Today Michael and I went out shopping for new tennis shoes for him. He got the same pair that he has gotten 4 years in a row, he's a creature of habit. We also went by the Lafayette electronic supply store so Michael could get some necessities for his current project, I think it has something to do with his ham radio :-)
We went by the mall so I could have some kitty time. After that he took me to target. I suppose I had been talking quite a bit about a necklace that I saw while I was in town. He had me show him the necklace and he got it for me! I don't normally want anything at full price, but I couldn't risk not getting this one. Here is my FAVORITE necklace. I know to most this is gaudy looking, but it is soooooo me!
After that we went to a local Restaurant called Dog n Suds. The root beer that they have is sold nationwide in convenience stores, and we decided that while we had the opportunity to eat at an actual dog n suds we should. It is kinda like a mixture of Sonic and A&W. Michael loved his coney dog and it was only $1.30!! I loved the root beer. It was so cheap and good that we may just become Dog n Suds regulars!

Cameos
I love Cameos. Necklaces, earrings, lapel pins, bracelets, basically anything with a cameo on it. But I am increasingly surprised that no one my own age seems to know what a cameo is. So, I thought I would educate anyone my own age who reads this and isn't aware of what a cameo is.
I guess I love them because 1. They are vintage looking, 2. They are somewhat hard to find, and finding a new one is quite a feat.
Which brings me to this weekend. I called Grandma to see if she was home from her radiation treatment yet, and when I got to her house she showed me the pink cameo candle holders that she had gotten for me!
Friday I went to Target with Michael's mom. She bought me the cutest t-shirt complete with you guessed it...cameo!
Saturday I went shopping with Mom, Christy, and Luke. While I was in one of the stores I found a black belt with a cameo on the buckle!

Abandoned!
Abandoned is exactly what I was around 3:45pm yesterday. I was left in the middle of the Ross Ade Stadium parking lot (Purdue's football stadium). I drove my car there and got into Michael's car. Michael drove my car home, and there I sat in a car with a manual transmission.
The mission: teaching myself to drive a 5 speed. I was told to call Michael when I was finished driving through the parking lot or, see him at home.
I spent about 30 minutes driving through the lot, and got dizzy from driving in circles. I decided that it was time to move on to bigger and better things. I won't lie I had a little trouble especially when I stopped on a small slope. But I was determined to make it home. Once I got out on the open road it wasn't so bad. I also tried several hills from a complete stop. I made it home about 45minutes to an hour after Michael had dropped me off. Of course I was proud a peacock!
Tonight as is tradition on Sunday nights we are having pizza. I will take Michael's car to get the pizza. I will be hauling precious cargo, hope I can handle it!
The ultimate goal is to get me to a point where I am confident driving his car so I can help with the drive to Ocean City in August! Also, we are certain that my car will one day die, I mean it's 11 years old for crying out loud! I am on my way!
Also, while I was off gallavanting in Michael's car he was in out parking lot working on my right turn signal that has not worked for about two years. He was able to fix it with a $15 part! Now I have to retrain myself to use my turn signal :-)
Yesterday was a big day for Caruso cars!

Christmas Shopping!
I am really proud of myself. I have started my christmas shopping for people for Christmas 2009. I love to shop anyway, and I loove buying gifts for other people. The great thing is that if I can get people things that they will like on sale, they end up with wayy more.
I decided in 2008 to start a tradition with Michael's mom. The same tradition that my mom and I have had for years. Every year a new pair of cozy PJs! I found a pair for her at JcPenney's the other day for 2.97, and they are really nice. I also got Christy her big gift for either Christmas or Birthday yesterday, and she will LOVE IT!
Now I can't wait until Christmas!

A weekend visit...COACH SHOES!
Friday mom and dad got into town and Michael and I prepared dinner for them. I made a fresh red sauce, and homeade bread. Michael made a pork roast and pasta. We all went out for a walk after dinner, then we came back and talked awhile. It was great catching up!
Saturday I got up and went over to Mom and Dad's hotel. Dad and I went to McDonalds for breakfast and brought some back for mom who got up late. Then we went SHOPPING (you did see that one coming, right?). Dad was a good sport and Michael was at home studying. I found a pair of coach shoes I had been wanting all season on clearance, I won't tell you how much, but I will tell you that they were an under $40 deal! I was so excited! I used the rest of my christmas money and mom and dad helped out a little :-). Like mom said in one of her blogs "Buy the shoes!" I also got some new tennis shoes that I desperately needed! Saturday night we all went to dinner at Puccinni's, mine and Michael's fave! We went to walmart after and bought a movie to watch.
Sunday we had a quick breakfast and said our goodbyes or in my case goodbuys (haha).
It was so wonderful to see them!
Also a quick side note: As I was writing this Michael went down and got our mail. I got a thank-you card that was post-marked September 15th. It was a return to sender piece of mail! Ugh! Talk about frustrating. I busted my rear getting those out quickly, and it took them 6 months to get it back to me, THANKS USPS!

Ocean City, NJ here we come...in about 5 months
Michael's parents and the rest of his family have a favorite vacation spot in Ocean City, New Jersey. I have never been, but my aunt Nancy and her family go there almost every year. Michael's parents and sister are paying for the house, and have invited us to join them there. We have gladly accepted the chance to spend 10-14 days at the beach! The trip won't be until the second week in August, so we have awhile yet, but I thought I would share the pictures with all of you all out in blog world!

Sleep Talking
On nights that I have to work the next day I always make a point to be in bed by 10, 10:30 at the latest. Michael comes in the room, rubs my tired feet, gets my water and tucks me in. He then goes back out to the living room and normally works on homework or talks on his ham radio. When he closes the door I always say "please cuddle." I hate going to bed before him, because I like to cuddle before I fall asleep. Apparently I have been more tired lately because he told me that the last four nights I have yelled at him for cuddling with me. Last night I told him "I don't want to cuddle right now, we need a cat." I have no recollection of this, and I do believe that I would say I want a cat, just not in my sleep. Apparently I am a very grumpy sleep talker.
Poor Michael, he is so good to me.
On another note mom and dad will be here to see me this weekend, I cannot wait!
